Reasons you should see a Physical Therapist for pelvic health?

What is pelvic floor dysfunction?

The pelvic floor composed of a number of muscles and tissue that help support the bladder, uterus and intestines. These muscles and tissue play a very important role to make sure that the pelvic is functioning properly. Pelvic floor dysfunction is a result of when these tissues and muscles are weak or damaged and are unable to relax and tighten the pelvic floor muscles. This can cause problems such as lower back pain, frequent urgency to urinate and other symptoms that are listed at the end.


How can Physical therapy help?

Physical therapy can help patients by assessing what may be the cause and coming up with a thorough treatment plan to improve the symptoms. The treatment plan could include a range of treatments. for example multiple exercises to improve the muscles in your pelvic floor could be included in order to make those muscles stronger to improve the symptoms. The physical therapist will do their research and find what best fits your situation.
